Fun and Games for Victoria Day at the Club – Bowlympics Style

Our club knows how to party, whether it’s Victoria Day, Canada Day or any of the other wonderful times that we celebrate being Canadian.  We started the season off  right  on May 19th with our annual Bowlympics afternoon.   This annual event, sponsored by RBC Wealth Management,  has been a mainstay of our Victoria Day celebrations for a number of years.  They have been kind enough to provide for all the medals since the inception of this special event, and we are appreciative of their support.     We also had a very special guest honouring us with her presence as well.  Lady English Rose ( a.k.a Mavis Gooding, dressed as Queen Victoria’s great, great great, great, great (I think that’s enough greats) grand-daughter was in attendance.    She brought much joy and humour to the afternoon’s fun events.  As usual, all the volunteers in their various capacities did a wonderful job making sure it was a great afternoon.  Thanks so much to Chuck Benson for the great pics.

Gold medal winners in the event were Donna De Wolfe, Miriam Gunn  and Mavis Gooding. Silver went to Mark Anstey, Barb Campbell and Tex Gooding.  Bronze was earned by Don Urquhart, Linda Burgess and Bros Brosnikoff.

Christmas Gift Exchange

Christmas Gift Exchange Update

There have been some questions regarding the gift exchange.  I will suggest a gift AROUND the $20 mark.  It’s not mandatory to buy a gift at all, your choice.

It would be a good gesture to donate to the food bank for the people in need!

Looking forward to seeing you all on Friday for a fun get together!!  There is still room for more to sign up.

If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me by email or phone.

The Halloween Games Event was recently held at our club, and the winner of the best costume was Diana Olenick, who looked spooktacular in her silver and black dress.

HALLOWEEN GAMES DAY – 2024

This years annual Halloween Games Day took place on Saturday 26th October.

It was well attended by the full complement of 12 mixed triples teams. They all entered into the spirit of the games with many wearing very imaginative costumes. The games played were very much not Bowling orientated. The teams played electronic Tenpin Bowling, Table Curling, Mini Basket Ball, Darts, Corn Hole and Ladder Ball. The games were all very competitive.

After the games the were served with a well-earned beverage and a tasty Chilli and delicious dessert.

The day was rounded off with the presentation of prizes to the winning team of Kate Wilson, Terry Nichols and Gerda Veld.

Two other teams skipped by Diane Cruickshank and Barry Conn tied for first place. A playoff of one dart nearest the bullseye decided the winner.

A Prize of a fantastic Pumpkin Decoration made and donated by Lynne Hutchinson was presented to the winner of the Best Costume – Dianna Olenick.

Thanks to all the participants, including helpers with set up, food preparation, the games and those that helped with the clean up.
